Pietà

Circa 1890
Church of the Assumption, Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Mary wears the usual blue mantle over a red robe. The composition owes something to Michelangelo's famous version, but the realistic wounds and scuffs on Jesus' body are more like those in Spanish examples of the 16th and 17th centuries.
